Ryan selected for GB Junior Worlds Team!
Kelsie wins Silver at the World Championships
Going into the final the main rivals were Canada and Germany who came 1st and 2nd in the other heat. GB made a strong start but all crews were neck and neck going into the last 500m. Germany dropped off with GB and Canada battling for Gold. By less that a canvas Canada took the Gold.
Kelsie is really chuffed to have won the Silver as the crew has only been together since September although disappointed in not winning Gold with the race being so close. She cheered up after words of congratulations from Sir Steve and Jurgen!
Kelsie is into the A Final at the World Championships in New Zealand
It should make for an interesting final on Thursday. The weather is not ideal although the wind dropped for today's racing. The final may be moved due to an expected hurricane on Thursday! So will keep you updated on her progress.
The BBC is not showing any footage of the Adaptive races so please send in complaints and perhaps next time we might get to watch Kelsie.

Junior GB success
Kelsie Gibson, Morgan Hellen and Tim Grant have all been selected to represent Great Britain. Kelsie Gibson was selected in the LTA Coxed Four on Saturday for the World Rowing Championships in New Zealand.
Kelsie at only 17 was selected on Saturday to represent Great Britain in the adaptive LTA Coxed Four. Kelsie’s selection makes her the club’s most successful athlete at an international level. She has represented Great Britain twice earlier this year in the Varese International Regatta and Rowing World Cup in Bled winning 3 Gold Medals in May.
The crew hopes to build on the success in May and continue to win Gold in New Zealand in November. The results over the few months confirm that London 2012 is a real prospect.
Morgan Hellen represented Great Britain at the World Junior Championships in Racice, Czech Republic in the Junior Mens Eight earlier this month. The crew battled hard and came 5th overall. In the last 500m they overhauled the Czech Republic and took 5th place in 5:47.18. The USA took the Gold with Germany and Italy in Silver and Bronze respectively.
Tim Grant raced at the European Championships, Le Coupe de la Jeunesse, in the Junior Mens Eight in Hazewinkel, Belgium. The crew won Gold on the Saturday and Silver on the Sunday. A fantastic result for the crew and ensured that Great Britain won the Boy’s team trophy and came 2nd overall. Tim will trial once again next season to represent Great Britain as a junior with hopefully even greater success to come.
Kelsie wins Gold at the World Cup and Morgan and Tim win Bronze in one weekend
Kelsie won Gold representing Great Britain in the LTA Coxed Four on Saturday 29th May at the World Cup Regatta in Bled, Solvenia. Whilst Tim and Morgan achieved a bronze medal at the National Schools Regatta in Nottingham .

Kelsie wins 2 international golds!
Kelsie was selected in April to represent
Juniors competing at Le Coupe de La Jeunesse
James, Josh and Morgan raced in the Mens Junior Eight winning Gold on the Saturday and Sunday racing. Morgan Hellen, who attends Oakwood Park Grammar School, also raced in the Mens Junior Coxed Four winning Gold on the Saturday and Bronze on Sunday. The eight won on both days by a clear 2 or 3 second victory and the Coxed Four winning by 5 seconds on Saturday. All three athletes help to assist Great Britain to win the overall trophy with France coming in second and Italy in third.
These are some of the best results Maidstone Invicta has seen on an international level together with 9 athletes winning Gold and Silver only two weekends ago for England. Well done to all the athletes involved and coaches and parents.

Marlow International Regatta - 21st and 22nd June 2009
Maidstone's first boat on the water was the Senior Coxless 4 (Josh Pendry, Will Tew, Alex Torbica and Craig Turner) where they came 2nd in their heat, in a time of 6:19.42. The final didn't go quite so well for them and they came 5th in 6:27.26
Next up was the Intermediate 8s, where the MIRC juniors (Simon Blackwell, Tim Grant, Lance Tredell, Tom Mason, Morgan Hellen, James Crumpton, Jon Farrar, Ben Farrar, coxed by Ross Porter came home 3rd in the heat qualifying for the reperchage, they raced a good race and managed to finish first in a time of 6:19.42, qualifying them for the Final, where they came 2nd to Hampton School. MIRC seniors (James Knight, Alastair Cooper, Geraint Evans, Mark Tomkins, William Purnell, Richard Ridgeway, Guy Sticklee and Owen Mills – coxed by Sue Mobbs) didn't have such a good race and finished last in their heat.
The Senior Crew of the previous race also raced at IM3 with a slight change to the crew and James Knight coming out of the crew to make way for David Porter, where they came home 5th in the heat.
The last race of the day for Maidstone was for Chris Mollison and Stuart Hampshire in the Mens Elite Doubles. They just lost out to a straight entry into the finals by coming 3rd so had to race in the reperchage where they came first, then qualifying for the final where they came 2nd in a time of 6:52.37
On the Sunday the regatta was split into AM and PM. This time the distance was only 1000metres. MIRC only entered one crew for the Sunday and that was for Intermediate 1 Mens Quad (Matt Nicholls, Chris Mollison, Stuart Hampshire and Craig Turner). In the morning the men came home first in the final in a time of 3:00.74 bringing home a plaque. Then in the afternoon the same crew raced again, but this time they came 2nd in a slightly faster time of 2:57.85.
Some of the Maidstone Invicta Mens crew are looking forward to competing at Henley Royal Regatta next week (1st – 5th July)
